support a ranch with purpose

This landscape offers tangible histories, from fossils lying near the surface to documented evidence of Native American history. Recorded deeds show that over thirty homesteaders once put a stake in the ground here, and initials of hard-working cowboys are still visible carved into our rocks.

Today, Broken Arrow Ranch houses a small family of ranchers, but the value of this land remains its heritage and the thriving ecosystems it supports. It is critical to us that future generations can flourish here. That is why we reinvest in the resources that provide added value to raising stock and enhancing habitats, creating long-term value for the community we are a part of.

As part of our mission, we continually give back to the Sheridan community—in time, goods, and financial assistance.

We are proud to support local non-profits, including:

  • The Food Group
  • WYO Theatre
  • Sheridan County 4H and Fair
  • Wyo West Warrior Foundation
  • Women in Ranching
  • Wyoming Stock Growers Land Trust
  • Sheridan County Land Trust

the broken arrow difference

pasture-finished to perfection

At Broken Arrow Ranch, we bridge the gap between progressive land stewardship and the consistent, high-quality meat your family deserves.

We recognize that you want to feed your family the best protein for your dollar. You care deeply about animal husbandry, the integrity of the range, and the value of your dollar. That’s why we’ve designed our beef program to deliver superior flavor and consistent quality, while purposefully managing the land we love in Northern Wyoming.

we steward the land with intention

We operate a cattle operation that is land-centric. We view our adapted Black Angus cattle not just as a product, but as essential tools for managing the range. Utilizing rotational movements and virtual fencing, we focus on adaptive and intentional grazing to improve soil health, biodiversity, and ecosystem resilience. We want our rangelands to be resilient and plentiful, ensuring this Northern Wyoming landscape is preserved for the next generation.

traditional and intentional husbandry

We weave modern science and technology into centuries-old ranching traditions. With masters’ degrees in Animal Science and decades in the industry, we invest in superior genetics from proven seedstock (including Superior Seedstock such as Whistling Winds, Leachman Angus, and Arntzen Angus) and utilize traditional, low-stress stockmanship. Working cattle on horseback and with herding dogs, we ensure our animals are healthy and calm from birth, which directly translates to a higher-quality product on your plate.

taste the pasture-finished difference

Our beef is different because we finish our cattle with a purpose: superior flavor. While we raise our cattle to harmonize with our native environment, we finish them on locally raised, non-GMO grains for the final 60 days while they remain on pasture.

This specific, intentional finish ensuring the consistent, rich marbling and deep tenderness our customers crave. It eliminates the tough, inconsistent results of store-bought or strictly grass-finished beef, giving you an eating experience you can depend on, time and time again.

hunting access

stewardship & wildlife management

We view ourselves as key stewards of the unique wildlife resources in our community. Wildlife on the Broken Arrow are managed by maintaining and improving high-quality habitat for the migratory herds of deer, antelope, elk, and birds that share our range.

  • Our Philosophy: To maintain a resilient ecosystem, we identify a small number of animals in need of culling each year.

  • Priority Groups: Because opportunities are very limited, we prioritize access for youth, veterans, locals, and the Wyoming Women’s Antelope Hunt first.

  • Strict Access Policy: We do not lease to outfitters, nor do we provide access through our deeded land to state lands that we do not lease.

  • No In-Person Requests: Hunting access will never be granted through in-person requests, especially the day or week of your intended hunt.

  • Inquiry Process: If you are interested in discussing future opportunities, please write to inquiries@brokenarrowranchwy.com with a summary of yourself, the species of interest, and your contact information. We will only respond if access becomes available.

who we are

Our deep respect and love for this industry and traditions led us to dedicate our lives to this purpose. From our low-stress handling on horseback to our unique grain-on pasture finish, or grazing cows effectively with virtual fencing, every step we take is intentional—designed to provide your family with beef defined by integrity and exceptional flavor.

Thank you for your support
